| Description | Caesalpinia crista is a small to medium-sized tree, usually up to 8-10 m tall, with a spreading crown. The bark is smooth, grey or brownish-grey, with numerous, shallow fissures. The leaves are compound, with 3-6 pairs of leaflets, which are ovate, oblong or lanceolate. The flowers are bright yellow or orange, arranged in axillary racemes. The fruits are flat, oblong or elliptical pods, 2-4 cm long, brown or black when ripe, with 1-4 seeds. |
